Only 14 days left to start the Second European Economic Congress (EEC) which will be held from 31st of May to 2nd of June 2010. The original dates for April were changed due to the consequences of the Smoleńsk catastrophe and the national mourning.
As previously assumed, the Second European Economic Congress will be the largest business event in our part of Europe. There will be as many as 4 000 participants, almost 700 speakers and dozens of sessions and panel debates, and great attention from Polish and European media. At present, a number of participants which confirmed the attendance is larger in comparison to the previous date in April.
The 2nd EEC, which is under the patronage of Josẻ Manuel Barosso, will be opened by Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, Honorary President of the Patronage Council to the EEC 2010 Organizing Committee. One of the participants is Austrian Commissioner-designate for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn. Additionally, Janusz Lewandowski, the EU Budget Commissioner, has already announced his arrival in Upper Silesia’s metropolis, as well as ministers of the Polish cabinet, including: Andrzej Kraszewski – Minister of Environment, and Jacek Rostowski – Finance Minister. Among participants are also Wolfgang Fauter – Vice President of Signal Iduna Group, Stephen Gomersall – Chief Executive for Hitachi Europe, Cesar Gonzalez-Bueno – Chief Executive for Europe of ING Group and Jan Kulczyk – Kulczyk Investments’ Chairman of Board of Directors.
