Ligota Park, the housing estate located on Rolna St., will soon improved its apartments offer thanks to another two buildings which construction works are progressing at present. Buildings number 7 and 8 are the last phase of the complex and will deliver 180 apartments. The Atal S.A. company, which is responsible for the development, has already started the apartments sales. Late summer the company celebrated a completion of the first six buidlings.
In November 2008, the Katowice Special Economic Zone has granted zone status to the part of the the Upper Silesian Industrial Park (Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy – GPP) with an area of 13 000 sq. m, intended for the construction of an innovative office building. That is when the GPP’s authorities had presented its plans about construction of a huge 23 000 sq. m passive building (original plans assumed cofinancing from the EU funds), but the investment did not start.
Recently, the highest building in the Southern Poland has celebrated its 5th anniversary. Altus was officially opened on 14th of September, 2004. Since the beginning it was managed as a mixed-use complex. Localised at 13 Uniwersytecka Street in Katowice and covered the total area of 69 000 sq. m is the seat of a cinema, a hotel, a fitness club as well as a shopping center and many companies. The 125 high structure is constructed of three cuboids – a 4-storey atrium as a base of the building and another two parts of 18 and 29 storeys high.

Yesterday, on 22nd of December the Council of Ministers decided about a support programme for investors. The Ministry of Economy will spare PLN 2,4 million for Steria Polska Sp. z o.o. which is going to open a Global Information Technology Outsourcing Center in Katowice. The Center’s services will include a system and network supervision as well as a remote system management. Thereby, the company will invest PLN 1,4 million and employ 250 specialists.
