January
– The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice was granted PLN 33,5 million within the framework of the European Union’s Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (OPI&E) and the state budget. The project involves a refurbishment of an old University’s laundry to the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center. More >>>
– The Silesian Philharmonic signed a PLN 24,22 million agreement with the consortium of Mostostal Warszawa SA and Acciona Infraestructuras SA. The companies were chosen as the prime contractor for a redevelopment of the Philharmonic. >>>

– OFF Festival, the most important alternative festival in Poland, was moved from Mysłowice to Katowice strengthening the City’s candidature for the European Capital of Culture in 2016. >>>
