Today, the City Council of Katowice passed the budget for 2011. A total income will amount PLN 1 billion 424 million, total expenditures will be at around PLN 1 billion 815 million. Nearly PLN 191 million of the PLN 391 million budgetary deficit will be covered from the European Investment Bank (EIB). It is estimated that PLN 42,9 million of capital expenditures will be spent for the first stage of the City Center redevelopment.
In 2008, Konior Studio had began a planning process to design a new seat for the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NPRSO) in Katowice. During the process, the architects decided to enlist Nagata Acoustics from Japan, one of the best acousticians’ team in the world, and the Stangel company based in Zgierz, Poland, which specializes in miniatures and models construction.

Since the beginning of January, the tower cranes work on foundations and an underground car park of new SCC.
Neinver and Inditex Group have concluded a lease agreement for nearly 4 000 sq. meters of retail space in Galeria Katowicka. The gallery’s first floor will feature stores of Zara, Pull and Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Massimo Dutti.
