Former KCB is getting new elevation and fittings

The so called Business Center of Katowice (“Katowickie Centrum Biznesu”, KCB) is turning from an abandoned concrete construction into a modern office building. Works are being underway in all parts of the facility and the investor announces to deliver the building this year.

About 200 workers from fifteen different building companies conduct the construction work presently. The “Alam” firm is responsible to coordinate the development as a prime contractor.

Vacancy rate drops below 10 percent

The Katowice office market sees slow but continuing growth of tenants demand and dropping of vacancy rate. Jones Lang LaSalle estimates, that the ratio fell below the level of 10 percent in H1 2012, reaching a single digit for the first time since the second half of 2009.

As no completions were delivered to the market during the last six months, the total office stock remains unchanged and stands at 259 500 sq. meters.

LPP will open four stores in Supersam

Four new brands join the list of Supersam’s tenants. The shops will occupy a total area of 1 200 sq. meters.

Mohito, Cropp, House and an undisclosed new brand, all belonging to LPP Group, will open its stores in the shopping center in 2014 after redevelopment and extension of existing Supersam. The building is located on Piotra Skargi St.

New hangar opens at Katowice Airport

An opening of a new maintenance hangar was celebrated today at Katowice International Airport. According to the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL), which manages the Airport, it is the most modern facility of its kind Poland at the moment.

The hangar was built for almost PLN 26 million. It covers an area of 7 912 sq. meters where a cubature totals 106 000 cu. meters. The construction work was conducted by Polimex-Mostostal and Coifer Impex SRL, and took 60 weeks.
