July was named the best month in history of the Katowice International Airport regarding the number of passengers handled at KTW. It took only 31 days to brake another record. August was the recording-breaking month both in total and charter traffic.
The record was improved by 1 388 passengers (365 727 in July). In total, there were 367 115 travelers handled at the airport in August 2014 representing growth of 12 percent (39 thousand people) when compared to same period last year. The last month was also the best one considering the charter traffic – there were 204 703 charter flights’ passengers, 54 thousand more (+36%) in comparison with August 2013.
1 850 660 travelers were handled at KTW from the beginning of 2014. This stands for 95 thousand passengers more (+5%) than in the same period of 2013. The airport authorities expect that the total number of handled passengers will reach 2,7 people in 2014 – the largest number of travelers in the KTW history. The growing trend will be continued in 2015, according to the authorities, as WizzAir already announced to expand its aircrafts base in Katowice and to extend the flight frequency of some routes.
