Fit-out works of the Scientific Information Center and Academic Library are progressing and the building becomes more coloured. The SICAL is covered by scaffolds which enable workers to fit windows and to install heat insulation elements and elevation of slabs of a red Indian sandstone. According to designers from the HS99 architectural studio, there will be 4004 windows in the building facade, each 20 centimeters wide. The montage of the slabs is planned to be concluded by the end of 2010. In a last phase the slabs will be impregnated to prevent an influence of weather conditions.
Meanwhile, works are also moving forward in the interiors. A concrete structure of the walls and ceilings were finished, and workers are focusing on elements of installations. A construction of spiral stairs connecting particular floors of the library was also concluded lately.
The seven-storey building is a 25 meters high and covers a total area of 13 260 sq. meters.
