Another record was registered at the Katowice International Airport (KTW), where 365 727 passengers were handled in July. It was the best month in history of the Pyrzowice airport.
The former record was made in July 2012 when 339 864 people were handled at KTW. The last month’s number of passengers also grew by 12,5 percent, resulting in 40 740 passengers, when compared to the same period last year.
199 100 travelers used charter flights what means a 34 percent growth (50 757 passengers) in comparison with July 2013.
From the beginning of 2014, 1 483 545 travelers were handled at KTW representing growth of 4 percent on the same period last year. The airport authorities expect to handle the largest number of passengers in history of KTW in 2014 – approximately 2,7 million people including about 900 000 charter flights’ passengers (760 000 last year).
