Conference on business tourism promotion

On 29th of June 2010 a „Meetings Energy” conference will be held in the angelo Hotel Katowice at 24 Sokolska St. The conference will concern a promotion of Katowice in the context of the business tourism market.

A purpose of the event is to define opportunities and threats as well as weaknesses and strengths of Katowice and the region as the destination of business tourism. Participants will also try to focus on possibilities of creation of the MICE brand in the City. Speakers will present how public and private sectors should cooperate with on the MICE market.

One of the invited speakers is Robert Davidson, Senior Lecturer in Business Travel & Tourism, Course Leader: MA Conference & Events Management, University of Westminster, London, UK. He joined the University of Westminster in 1998, after spending nine years in France teaching at two universities and at the ESSEC-Cornell Institute of Management in Paris. He specializes in the conference and incentive travel sector. He runs his own consultancy, and has undertaken research for many high-profile MICE organizations. In 2005, he was nominated Meetings & Incentive Personality of the Year, at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards ceremony in London. For the past four years, he has featured in Conference & Incentive Travel magazine’s list of the 50 most influential people in the UK conference industry.
