Dark horse

Jones Lang LaSalle, a global property consultants company, has published a report concerning service centers and the best location for this type of business. As the report says, Polish market of services is the most dynamic among European countries. Number of companies interested in opening an outsourcing or shared service center is growing rapidly. This business sector is currently estimated for more than 300 centers, number of employees will reach 70 000 in the next few years. According to daily Puls Biznesu, analysts of Jones Lang LaSalle were already presenting the report in India and the Netherlands. The presentations are to encourage foreign companies to make a decision about location and office rental agreements this year. Analysts claims that rental rents will not be lower.

The report also points out the best five locations for centers in Poland where two cities, Katowice and Łódź – among Warsaw, Wrocław and Kraków – are called the dark horses. This good mark resulting from availability of various modern office options and relatively low rents.

The office market conditions in those cities and a large number of highly-skilled labour can attract not only BPO/SSC firms but also a new sector called Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). KPO involves analysts and analysis, providing organizations with strategic and tactical decision-making tools. According to estimations, the KPO industry is expected to grow at 45% a year and to top USD 17 billion by 2010.
