A little more than 70 days left to start the third edition of the European Economic Congress which will take place between 16th and 18th of May 2011. The PTWP SA Group, organiser of the largest business event in Central Europe, will invite European politicians, scientists and directors of some of the biggest corporations to Katowice, to discuss the shape of the economy in the coming years.
The agenda of the European Economic Congress in 2011 will include the most significant problems of the European economy in its global context. EEC 2011 will take place just before Poland assumes presidency of the Council of the European Union, which will certainly have an influence on the themes discussed. An important issue on the agenda will also be the situation of public finance in the EU Member States, as well as the EU’s new financial outlook.
The agenda of the Congress will also include issues related to the implementation of the energy and climate package, as well as themes which are of utmost importance from the point of view of the European economy, comprising such fields as the directions of EU regional policy, energy security, transport policy, innovation and competitiveness of the economy or the development of science and the role of new technologies in economic development.
As in previous years, the Organisational Committee – Patronage Council chaired by Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, will oversee the organisation of the European Economic Congress and the scope of issues discussed.
The importance and prestige of the 3rd European Economic Congress will derive not only from the issues on the agenda, i.e. key problems of the economy, but also from the fact that its participants form such a representative yet diversified group. Their competencies and willingness to debate openly about common problems constitute the most valuable asset of the Congress.
“Talks are currently in progress concerning the participation of top-level representatives of multinational corporations and of special guests from many countries. Judging from strong interest in the 2011 European Economic Congress, we can already say that the third edition will outdo the previous ones in terms of prestige and momentum, as well as the scope of issues on the agenda” says Wojciech Kuśpik, initiator of the EEC, President of the PTWP SA Group.
