Over 200 mayors, representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, Polish government authorities, city managers and power industry specialists will partake in a fourth international conference – “City 2010. Energy Efficiency in Cities”. Next Monday and Tuesday, between March 22nd to 23rd, the attendees will discuss an energy issues in angelo Hotel Katowice.
The first day of the conference will be attended by Javier Sanchez from the OECD, Roman Doubrava, Corinne Hermant de Callatay and Rudolf Niessler from the European Commission and Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Minister of Regional Development. The participants will focus on the EU’s strategy on energy efficiency and cities’ responsibilities on this field.
The second day is scheduled for a debate upon Polish energy policy until 2030 and an energy saving in the country. Olgierd Dziekoński, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Joanna Strzelec-Łobodzińska, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy will take part in the discussion.
The conference will also be participated by Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, mayor Piotr Uszok, Lech Grobelny and Bogusław Śmigielski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. Jan Olbrycht, member of the European Parliament, together with the “Europe is simple” association are the coorganizer of the event.
The “City 2010. Energy Efficiency in Cities” conference is accompanying the second European Economic Congress which will be held in mid-April in Katowice.
