The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM), an elite global pro gaming tour sponsored by Intel, will be held in Katowice. This world’s biggest event for computer games’ lovers will make its first stop ever in Poland.
The IEM is organized by Electronic Sports League (ESL). The tour has been sponsored by Intel since 2006. Previously, series of the gaming tournaments were organized in, among others, New York, Sao Paolo, Shanghai, Kiev, Cologne and Guangzhou. In November, the IEM will be held in Singapore.
Katowice will be the fourth stop of the 2012/13 season of the Intel Extreme Masters. The tournament will be held in the “Spodek” sport and exhibition hall from 18th to 20th of January 2013. The event will include a USD 82 000 prize pool.
The organizer expects the IEM in “Spodek” will be watched on-line by approximately 4 million people from 170 countries.
