Polish State Railways (PKP) have finished the modernization of the railway station’s building in the district of Ligota. The facility was reopened for travelers last Friday.
The interior of the station was fully refurbished and newly arranged – apart from the works on the main hall, waiting room and toilets, two commercial units were prepared inside where a pharmacy and newspaper store will be opened. The building was adjusted to the needs of sightless people. A passenger information system was also installed.
Additionally, the building is now covered with a new roof and elevation. 16 parking places for cars were created in front of the station.
The building was modernized by Pol-Rem for PLN 2,7 million. The company was appointed by the Polish State Railways (PKP), which is responsible for the management of railway station facilities in Poland. The investment was financed from the State Budget and from the internal funds of PKP.
