A remote controlled demolition robot was used for demolition works on the top technical floor of „DOKP”. To remove flooring and rubble, more equipment is being carried to the top floors of the building.
The demolition was commenced in March this year. Fittings, walls and lifts have been removed from the building’s interior. At present, aluminium parts of elevation and window frames are being removed and the roof was cleaned up a few days ago.
„We have finished the demolition of technical premises, in which lift machinery and remaining equipment were placed. We were using a remote controlled demolition robot, but also our workers dismantled the construction manually by cutting large steel elements” – said Grzegorz Przybyłek, owner of Carbo-Stal, which was appointed by TDJ Estate to demolish „DOKP”.
Dedicated water cannons are used inside the building to moisten the crushed materials and to reduce the dust. A tower crane will be mounted at the site at the beginning of June. It will be involved in the dismantling works of prefabricated floor slabs, staircases, elevation and steel supporting the construction.
„DOKP” is located at 1 Roździeńskiego Av. near the „Spodek” sport and exhibition hall.
