A new seat of the municipal guard was opened today on Żelazna St. in the “Załęże” district. The building was raised and equipped thanks to PLN 7,2 million. A development of the facility was financed by the City Hall.
140 workers of the municipal guard will have 1 500 sq. meters at their disposal. By now, seats of the guard were situated in three different location in Katowice. The construction work took one year and a half and was carried out by Dombud S.A.
The municipal guard is under the control of the City Hall and receive pay from the City budget. They serve as a preventive police but have fewer rights than the police and are restricted as to the equipment they can carry.
