New center of Steria

Yesterday, on 22nd of December the Council of Ministers decided about a support programme for investors. The Ministry of Economy will spare PLN 2,4 million for Steria Polska Sp. z o.o. which is going to open a Global Information Technology Outsourcing Center in Katowice. The Center’s services will include a system and network supervision as well as a remote system management. Thereby, the company will invest PLN 1,4 million and employ 250 specialists. In cooperation with regional enterprises another 25 workplaces can be created. The Center will be developed between 2009 and 2011.

The Steria’s new Center is a next phase of expansion of the Katowice’s site established on October 15, 2007 and located in the Altus building at 13 Uniwersytecka St. The Center in Katowice is a part of the European network of service centres making up the Steria Global Delivery Unit (GDU).

With relation to the yesterday’s decision, the Ministry of Economy will alocate about PLN 53 million among eight investments in Poland. Almost PLN 34 m will support three companies which plan to develop theirs businesses in the Śląskie Voivodeship. Except Steria, two another companies based in the Voivodeship were granted by the Ministry. These are Ford Werke GmBH in Tychy (amount of support: PLN 16,7 m) and Fiat Powertrain Technologies Poland Sp. z o.o. in Bielsko-Biała (PLN 14,7 m).
