The Science and Technology Park of Euro-Centrum organizes the second edition of the New Economy Forum (NEF). The event will take place between 23rd and 24th of April 2012 in Katowice. The Forum is co-organized by Silesia and Małopolska regions and local universities.
The purpose of the NEF is to exchange experiences between representatives of science, business and administration, and to discuss technology and innovation opportunities in the context of Europe 2020 strategy. Moreover, it promotes ideas and young, innovative companies.
The second edition is strictly dedicated to renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, smart and micro-grids, intelligent buildings, robotics, materials engineering, implants, intelligent artificial limbs and biomechanics.
Additionally, finals of Business Ideas Competition for young entrepreneurs – Start-up Boot Camp – are going to take place on April 24th during the second day of the NEF. The competition is run by US – Polish Cooperation Council (USPCC). The first prize is a flight ticket to California for 2013 Global Technology Symposium in Silicon Valley and it will be awarded for the most promising start-up idea of global impact.
The two-days discussions will be held in the Scientific Information Center and Academic Library (SICAL) and the Faculty of Law at the University of Silesia.
The last year’s, first edition of the New Economy Forum took place in Kraków.
