Almost 3 500 participants have already registered to take part in the II European Congress of Small and Medium – Size Enterprises. Exactly one month left to begin this four-day European debate on the subject of the SME sector. Organizers currently expect about 6 000 guests.
The Congress will be held between 24th and 27th of September. Within the framework of this year’s edition, over 60 discussion panels are planned including over 250 speakers from Poland and abroad. It is worth to mention that the event is to be doubled in scale – during the last year’s first edition, there were 30 panel sessions, 2 500 participants and only two days of duration.
Themes of this year’s Congress are: Modern management in micro, small and medium – size enterprise, Internationalization of enterprises – business without boundaries, innovations for SME, economic self-government and local government business. Main aim of the meeting will be to pass information on the present challenges for entrepreneurs in all management – related processes taking place in a company.
The honorary patronage over the II European SME Congress is taken by: President of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski, Mr José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission and President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz. The works of the Honorary Committee are leaded by Prof. Jerzy Buzek and Janusz Steinhoff, Chairman of the Council of the Polish Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice.
The opening and plenary sessions of the first Congress’ day will take place in the Academy of Music at 3 Zacisze St. Most of the panel sessions in following three days will be organized in the Faculty of Law and Administration’s building of the University of Silesia at 11b Bankowa St.
The Congress is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice. Participation in the Congress is free of charge. It is possible to register till 16th of September.
