A panel discussion relating case studies of business services in Poland and major opportunities impacting their growth took place during the Thursday’s conference “Katowice – Clean, Green and Talent-Driven SSC/BPO/ITO Hub in Central Europe”. Representatives of such companies as IBM, Ernst&Young, Capgemini, Fluor and Grupa Żywiec were invited to the discussion.
Katowicki Holding Węglowy S.A. (KHW) and Tauron Polska Energia S.A., two Katowice-based companies, presented today its plans concerning Shared Service Centers. Both centers will be located in Katowice. The presentations were given during the “Katowice – Clean, Green and Talent-Driven SSC/BPO/ITO Hub in Central Europe” conference.

For three days, between 12th and 14th of October representatives from Katowice and Upper Silesia visited New York to promote Poland and the region. The Silesian delegation included representatives of the City Hall of Katowice, the Katowice Special Economic Zone, the Silesian University of Technology, the Katowice branch of the US-Polish Trade Council, DisplayLink and LGBS Software Polska.
Katowice has a chance to attract new investors from the Business Process Offshoring area. After an audit shared service center of PwC – first of its kind in Poland – which was opened this year in the City, following companies are making allowance for opening of centers in Katowice.
At present, three international companies are debating Katowice as the final destination.
