PKP PLK delivers platforms of Railway Station

On the 2nd of September, the platform 1 of the Katowice Railway Station was delivered and put at passengers disposal. This way the last stage of the modernization process of the Station’s platforms was concluded.

A new surface, elements of small architecture, information system for passengers and fittings were built within the general modernization of the platforms. The redevelopment included the installation of new power grids and a water-supply-and-sewage system.

Steel construction covers platform 4

Builders of the platform 4 are finishing to erect the steel structure of the roof at the Katowice Railway Station. The works were relaunched at the beginning of 2013 after necessity of changing one of sub-contractors.

Previously, the construction over all four platforms was planned to be delivered by the end of the last year. Due to a bankruptcy of Budus, the subcontractor of the undertaking, the works are delayed. The PRK Kraków prime contractor has already chosen

New platform 3 opened

PRK Kraków, a prime contractor of the Railway Station’s platforms redevelopment, has conducted works on the platform number 3. It was opened for passengers today.

The modernization took four months as the platform had been closed in the middle of May. Previously, the same company had revamped the platform 2. Now the both platforms got new surfaces, roof and tracks, elements of small architecture, information system for passengers and fittings.
