While a preparatory work is running at the construction site of the new Silesian Museum and the prime contractor waits to sign the contract and to enter the site, take a few minutes and become familiar with the future building. Here is the interview with Anna Pędziwiatr, an architect from the Austrian Riegler Riewe Architekten studio based in Graz, which is responsible for an architectural and urban concept of the new Silesian Museum’s seat.
After almost eight months Silesian Museum in Katowice announced today a name of company which had filed the best offer for a prime contractor of the new Museum’s seat. The best terms were offered by the consortium of Budimex S.A., Poland (the leader) and Ferrovial Agroman S.A. from Spain. A gross price of the offer is PLN 206 149 262,16.
Silesian Museum took another step forward to choose a prime contractor for the new seat. The opening of bids took place today in Katowice. This is the second stage of the tender procedure. In September this year, five companies had been chosen from among all filed offers and were invited to the second stage. Today, names and theirs price bids were revealed.

Silesian Museum is preparing for a development of the new seat step by step. While a laborious bidding procedure to choose a prime contractor is in progress, the Museum appointed a Contract Engineer of the investment. A Warsaw’s company, ECM Group Polska Sp. z o.o., was found the best from among six offers.
The company will be mostly responsible for preparatory works including a road connection and access to a construction site
