More than twenty large events and business meetings will take place in the International Convention Center by the end of this year.
The official list of the events has been presented by the Katowice Convention Bureau, which was created by the City Hall to support and promote the business meetings industry in Katowice. The bureau was also appointed to attract organizers of events and to cooperate with them as a partner.
The International Convention Center was opened in March this year. The first event, which took place in the new venue was the Intel Extreme Masters e-sports tournament. By now, several large events have been organized in the 35 thousand sq. meters building including WTA Open Katowice, European Economic Congress, ProfiAuto Show, Congress of Polish Education as well as the International Fair of Mining, Power industry and Metallurgy, which is currently taking place in the ICC.
The newly erected building is temporarily managed by the Municipal Center for Sport and Recreation („MOSiR”) until the City Hall of Katowice chooses a manager of the ICC. By this time, the City Hall marked prices for events organizers. For example, if the company wants to lease the multifunctional hall of the ICC for eight hours and host up to 2 500 attendees (one-third of the hall), it will pay PLN 11 000. Sport or concert events can be organized for PLN 32 160. The prices are negotiable.
Following events will take place in the International Convention Center at 35 Korfantego Av. this autumn. The list does not include private invitational events.
