In autumn 2011, Silesia City Center (SCC), the biggest entertainment and shopping center in the region will be able to offer additional 20 000 sq. meters of retail space in 60 new shops. At present, construction works on the extension of the Center passes the halfway mark.

Currently, SCC has a commercial space of 66 000 sq. meters and 250 shops and commercial outlets. Except the new retail spaces, the extended part will deliver an underground car park on the “-1” level, a ground “0” level of commercial spaces, both covering a total area of 25 000 sq. meters, and a second car park located on the roof. “We wanted to create a modern and environment friendly new generation center, so that was the reason to locate parking places under the ground and on the roof” – said Rafał Paszkiewicz, Project Manager at Silesia City Center. The number of parking places will be increased to 3 500.

At present, more than 300 workers and four tower cranes are involved at the construction site. Erbud S.A., the prime contractor of the extension is running a fourth stage of works now.
