Webanywhere, a global learning technologies company, is expanding its research and development center in Katowice. The project has been supported by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ).
The Agency helps investors to enter the Polish market and guide companies through all the essential administrative and legal procedures that involve a project. PAIiIZ reported that Webanywhere have already invested EUR 0,2 million in Katowice within the project supported by the Agency (excluding salaries paid to employees).
The company opened its research and development center in the City in May 2012. At the very beginning, there were 18 people employed in the office and since then Webanywhere has built a support team of 55 people currently working for customers in the UK and other European countries. The firm expects to create another 13 new job positions by the end of this year.
The company is looking for WordPress web developers, PHP and delivery web developers, content publishers, support technicians and graphic designers. The firm mostly provides learning management systems to clients ranging from large multinational corporations to SMEs and the education sector.
For example, Webanywhere delivered a cloud-hosted, fully supported Moodle management system for the British Safety Council to deliver health & safety training programmes to around 125 000 contractors working on the London 2012 Olympic Games. The firm is also creating a video social learning platform for the Zara clothing brand (Inditex Group), allowing employees to share knowledge, processes and best practice.
Webanywhere was established in 2003 and since then the company has offered an end-to-end service comprising design, installation, hosting, training and technical support, as well as integration of Moodle with third party software. Webanywhere is headquartered in Keighley, West Yorkshire, UK with a local office in Philadelphia and Katowice. The company is Europe’s largest Moodle Partner with over 3 000 clients worldwide. Webanywhere is also the only certified Moodle Partner in Poland.
