Wizz Air links two UNESCO creative cities

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, on Thursday announced a new route from Katowice to Liverpool. The new service is Wizz Air’s sixth low-fare route between Katowice and the United Kingdom along with Belfast, Bristol, Doncaster Sheffield, Glasgow and London Luton.

The route will be inaugurated on 29th of March and will be operated with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With this new service, Wizz Air is now offering 27 routes to 13 countries from the Katowice International Airport. Tickets on the carrier’s new route are already on sale. Prices start from PLN 119.

„We are delighted to announce another attractive Wizz route from Poland. Our Katowice passengers have a great opportunity to visit Liverpool on our low fares. We are confident that our newest service will be as popular as the other 26 in our ever-growing Katowice network.” – commented Gabor Vasarhelyi, Communications Manager at Wizz Air.

Katowice and Liverpool have been recently awarded a prestigious title of City of Music by UNESCO. Apart from that, Liverpool is a very popular tourist destination thanks to The Beatles, the group that brought the city a proud label from Guinness World Records of being the „World Capital of Pop.”
