Works are being concluded on Station hall

Ten out of sixteen cup-shaped pillars of the new Railway Station have been reconstructed thus far. Also finishing works are approaching to an end in the Station hall.

Builders of the Neinver’s multifunctional complex have already concluded works in all premises of the Station’s commercial part and leased units have been handed over to the tenants who can now start arrangement works. Walls and audience of the “Multikino” cinema – the biggest tenant of Galeria Katowicka – are being developed on the fourth floor of the shopping complex.

A glass main entrance’s elevation of the building is being mounted from the side of Szewczyka Sq. and Dworcowa St. while walls are being cladded at the three old entrances to the platforms. Tests have started for installations which will ensure the station hall’s accurate operations, as well as traveler convenience and safety. A square situated in front of the main entrance is under construction at Szewczyka Sq. and Młyńska St.

Preparatory works are underway for the installation of the reconstructed “Katowice” neon-sign at the top of the front pillars above the Station hall’s main entrance. The “Galeria Katowicka” sign was already mounted on the southern elevation at the platforms’ side.

Last days, one of the tower cranes located near 3 Maja St. was dismantled, however a new one was installed from the side of Słowackiego St. According to the developer, seven tower cranes still work at the construction site.
