The Upper Silesian Industrial Park (Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy, GPP) commenced construction works on its first of four buildings planned within the office park at 39 Konduktorska St. in Katowice. Budus S.A. was chosen as the prime contractor of the project.
“The groundbreaking took place last month, in December 2010. Currently, earthworks are underway for the building’s foundations. The construction works will take 12 months” – said Justyna Bartecka, Marketing and Development Manager at the GPP.
A usable area of the 7-storey facility will cover approx. 7 500 sq. meters. There will be an underground car park for tenants’ use. A typical floor area of 1 050 sq. meters offers an open space or cabinet arrangement and B+ class standard. Authorities of the GPP plans to implement a modern “trigeneration” system in one of the buildings. The system helps for more efficient management of energy in buildings.
The Upper Silesian Industrial Park is located in the postindustrial area of the former “Silesia” Steelworks. The office building as well as the whole planned office park will operate within the Katowice Special Economic Zone which enables future tenants to get tax exemptions (up 40%) and additional incentives.
