Plot of Civil Registry Office waits for developers

Demolition works on the former Civil Registry Office’s seat (“Pałac Ślubów”) located at 14 Korfantego Av. in the City Center were officially concluded on Thursday. The City Hall of Katowice is going to set the plot for sale to private investors. Before that, the area will be destined for a temporary car park.

It will be presented during the this year’s Expo Real international trade fair for commercial property and investment which will take place in Munich from 4th to 6th of October.

GIG starts HUGE2

Fitch affirms the City of Katowice at A-

Fitch Ratings has affirmed the City of Katowice’s long-term foreign and local currency ratings at “A-“ with stable outlook. The same note was given to the City last year.

The City of Katowice’s ratings reflect its sound budgetary performance, high liquidity position, strong self-financing capacity, low, albeit increasing, debt and strong debt coverage. The ratings also take into account the dynamic growth of opex, mainly due to the growing rigid spending, projected high capital expenditure of about PLN 2 billion by 2014

Platform number 1 opened for passengers

Last Saturday, the Railway Station’s platform number 1 being under redevelopment since October 2010, was delivered and opened for travelers. Next to be refurbished is the platform number 2 which is already out of use. The platforms number 3 and 4 are still operating and will be revamped respectively in next turns.

The platform 1 was redeveloped by the Transkol company.
