An extension of the apron, modernization of taxiways and construction of a new runway – these are the most important tasks to be fulfilled at the Katowice International Airport by the end of 2016. A cost of the works will total PLN 405 million.
The investment process was staged as the Airport will operate during the construction work. The extension of the apron was commenced in May 2011, about 15% of planned works have already been concluded.
Polish-Spanish consortium of NDI SA and Construcciones y Promociones Balzola S.A. will be contracted to redevelop the City Center in the area of the Market Square and the Roundabout. None of bidders tendering for the contract lodged an appeal against the decision of the City Hall in the National Appeal Chamber, which in practice means a green light for the contract signing.

Echo Investment S.A. has obtained a building permit for construction of an office complex planned by the developer near the crossroads of Górnośląska (part of the “A4” motorway) and Francuska streets.
“We have obtained two building permits concerning a road system and a first stage of the office project on Francuska Street. Our next step will be to commence proceedings and to appoint a prime contractor.
On 31st of May 2011, Reinhold Polska Project 4 Sp. z o.o. – a subsidiary of Reinhold Polska AB – and PKP Cargo S.A. had concluded a conditional preliminary sale agreement on selling the Reinhold Center office complex located at 138 Korfantego Av. in Katowice. The Management Board of Reinhold Polska informed that due to the non fulfillment of the condition precedent of the agreement, the final contract has not been signed by the parties on 23rd of December 2011, as it was agreed.
