11 firms want to build Academy of Fine Arts new seat

Eleven building companies from Poland and Spain entered their bids in a public tender for construction works on the new scientific, research and cultural complex of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. In the meantime, the management body of the Silesian Voivodeship decided about funds admission for this project within the Regional Operational Programme.

Bids opened for International Convention Center

On Wednesday, the City Hall of Katowice opened bids in the public tender for finishing works on the International Convention Center (ICC). There are five tenderers taking part in the contract award procedure.

The former contract with Polimex-Mostostal was withdrawn by the City Hall in September last year due to, among others, delay of the construction work.

The second tenter procedure was issued in December 2012. The City Hall estimated that the cost of the construction work can not exceed PLN 280 million excluding VAT.

Supersam: We focus on commercialization

While Galeria Katowicka is going to be delivered this year and the opening is scheduled for 18th of September, some attention is also given to another project as there is the second shopping center to be erected in the very heart of Katowice.

The project called Supersam was shown publicly for the first time in 2009. Centrum Development and Investments (CDI), which is responsible for the scheme, got the building permit in the middle of 2011. The same year, the company entered into the agreement with the Great Britain’s Resolution Property investment fund to conduct the undertaking together.
