3Services Factory (3SF), a data processing center opened in May 2011 at 12 Gospodarcza St., is to develop its services for IT systems by raising a second building of the complex.
Previously, about 800 sq. meters of space were delivered within the first building. The second one is being built just along side where the complex consisting of three such facilities is planned. “This is the biggest data center in Silesia and one of the four biggest in the country. We plan to finish the second building next year and to complete the entire center in 2013. The fourth, last stage of the investment will be constructed in Bytom where a back up center is to be located” – said Magdalena Hoffman-Cichoń, PR Specialist at 3SF.

Both sites will be connected each other via independent fiber optical cables. The investment assumes construction of the data center according to TIER III and TIER II standards covering approximately 4 000 sq. meters in total. The 3SF data center offers services in the area of, among others, cloud computing, collocation, dedicated hosting or shared hardware platform. The cloud computing model was lately proposed by the 3SF company thanks to a joint cooperation with Fujitsu Technology Solutions Sp. z o.o. and AB S.A.
The data center is mostly used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. It includes backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g., air conditioning, fire safety system) and security solutions (CCTV monitoring, security personnel, two access and exit roads). The facility helps to provide a reliable infrastructure for external companies’ IT operations and keeps high standards for assuring the integrity and functionality of its hosted computer environment. This is accomplished through redundancy of both fiber optic cables and power, which includes emergency backup power generation.
The offer of the center is addressed to IT, telecommunication, software-house companies, universities, and the Business Process Outsourcing sector. The investment is a joint project of TKP SA, a telecommunication operator and PCC SE, an international concern with the seat in Duisburg.
A total value of the investment is PLN 40 million.
