Representatives of the City Hall of Katowice have just returned from the MIPIM international real estate forum in Cannes. The City’s Strategic Investors Assistance Center has brought the fDi Magazine award collected during the ceremony on 7th of March. The delegation also had several meetings with investors and consultancy companies.
The City has promoted over ten investment opportunities focusing on the Market Square – Roundabout area. The subjected schemes are designed for commercial purposes in most cases, particularly addressed to hotels and offices developers.
During the four days of MIPIM, the representatives of Katowice were holding talks with following companies: Reas, Be 1 World, Arup, BRE Hipoteczny, First Brothers Co., Wintersgill, Skanska, Gleeds, CTP Invest, ECE, Grupa 5, Bouygues Batiment International, UBM, Warimpex, Yareal, WestImmo, Eversheds, CBRE, RREEF Spezial Invest GmbH, Tebodin, Tengbom International, Gide Loyrette Nouel, Marvipol, Axi Immo Group, Polish Properties, Fisheye, PwC, Savills, Hines, Unibail Rodamco, Pirelli Pekao Real Estate.
The City representatives expect the meetings will benefit in the course of next few years as it was in the case of Warimpex and its Angelo Hotel. “We have talked with Warimpex about this investment some years ago at MIPIM. Now, we have the new four-star hotel of Angelo operating in the City” – said Mateusz Skowroński, Mayor’s Plenipotentiary for Strategic Investors and Head of the Strategic Investors Assistance Center of the Katowice City Hall.
„I am under the impression of dynamic changes taking place in the Center of Katowice and the promotion of the undertaking. Thanks to a meeting of Warimpex and City Hall’s representatives at MIPIM, the company had decided to build the Angelo Hotel. The presented offer of the innovative, modern city friendly for investors was accepted enthusiastically. Our engagement in Katowice is on a long-term basis and we plan subsequent investments” – said Jerzy Krogulec, Member of the Board of Warimpex Polska.
