Bipromet purchased a plot from the City of Katowice

Bipromet S.A. and the City Hall of Katowice has signed an agreement concerning a transfer of ownership of a plot located on Gen. Sikorskiego St. The conclusion of the contract was preluded by a competitive tender issued by the City Hall, an owner of the plot. The highest bid was proposed by Bipromet and amounts PLN 1,616 million.

The subjected plot covers 2 500 sq. meters. According to the Spatial Development Plan resolved for the area, the property is destined for commercial purposes. It is located in the City Center with an easy access to the “A4” highway. Bipromet admits the plot is very attractive as it borders on premises where the company’s seat is situated. This office complex at 29 Graniczna St. includes three buildings connected to each other and comprising 14 345 sq. meters of total useful surface.

The Bipromet’s corporate management already chose one of consulting companies to prepare an investment plan showing studies of possible development of the joint plots. The whole area covers more than 12 000 sq. meters and enables to raise an office and conference complex, as well as a multi-storey hotel, apartment or other commercial building.

Bipromet S.A. is an engineering and building company had established in 1950 and based in Katowice. The company with subject entities such as – Przedsiębiorstwo Budowlane Katowice S.A. and Bipromet Ecosystem Ltd. – creates Corporate Group employing more than 280 people. A scope of the firm’s activities include, among others, design services and investment realization for needs of non-ferrous metals and environment protection sectors. The company debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in October 2007. In July 2010, KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. – the tenth-largest mined copper producer in the world – became a controlling shareholder of Bipromet S.A. purchasing 66% of shares.
