The global architecture and urbanism studio Broadway Malyan prepared a project and detailed design of a new business lounge and fast track route for the Katowice International Airport.
The approximately 400 sq. meters VIP area will be created in one of the existing terminals. It will be opened this year in October. The lounge and the fast track priority service – that enables to save up time while checking in and boarding – is dedicated not only for e.g. politicians and celebrities but also for all business class travelers of LOT, Lufthansa and SAS.
The Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL), a management body of the Airport, also plans further expansion of the business passengers services and announced last weeks to build a small general aviation terminal designed for non-scheduled jet flights, businessmen and VIPs. Together with the terminal, a new apron and taxiways would be erected. “We want to present the project to a group of firms and interest them in the undertaking. The construction work would take from 18 to 24 months and cost about PLN 8-10 million” – Artur Tomasik, CEO of GTL, said during an opening of the extended Terminal A in June.
