Building permit approved for new seat of District Court

The Regional Court in Katowice obtained a valid building permit for the realization of a new seat of the District Court „Katowice-Wschód”. Construction works are expected to be launched next year.

The permit was validated last month. Now the investor has to take several steps before the start of the construction work, according to the Regional Court’s investment department. At first, an approval of the Technical and Economic Commission will be needed for the project. Also, an investment programme has to be adjusted by the Ministry of Justice. Then the project will be implemented in the financial plan for the year 2016.

„Tender procedure for prime contractors will be issued in 2016 and the construction work are planned to be started the same year. The building will be delivered within a so called turn-key option, what involves not only the construction of the new court’s seat but also a technical equipment and furnitures” – explained Jacek Krawczyk, press spokesman of the Regional Court in Katowice.

The Regional Court in Katowice, which is a parent body of the District Court „Katowice-Wschód”, is responsible for the investment. An estimated cost of the undertaking amounts to PLN 69 million. The project will be entirely financed from the State Budget. The architectural design of the building was prepared by „Wojciech Gęsiak Studio Architektoniczne” and had been chosen in an open architectural contest in the middle of 2014. The new seat will be erected at 70A Francuska St. and will border on the existing District Court’s facility.
