During the end of last week, the MIPIM real estate trade fair took place in Cannes. The City of Katowice presented its offer of 12 development projects. The Katowice’s representatives claim that some of the investors showed interest in part of the offer, particurarly in shopping malls, underground car parks and hotels. The last category is confirmed by statements of Hyatt and Louvre Hotels.
Piotr Uszok: In my opinion, public investments should be a driving force for any city’s development. They should result in an added value, which is attracting commercial investments and ultimately causing an improvement in the quality of life in the city. Quality of life must always come first.
Katowice, capital of the Silesia voivodship, is soon expected to see one of Europe’s largest urban-space transformation and regeneration projects. Its authorities are working on a comprehensive revitalization scheme that is meant to reshape Katowice’s central areas as well as create new public space while also upgrading existing public space.
MIPIM, the world’s premier real estate summit which will took place in Cannes on March 10th -13th, attracts great development projects, decions-makers and brings them in one place. Last year edition was visited by almost 30 000 participants, 6 800 investors and more than 2 600 exhibitors.
