New plans for passive building in GPP

In November 2008, the Katowice Special Economic Zone has granted zone status to the part of the the Upper Silesian Industrial Park (Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy – GPP) with an area of 13 000 sq. m, intended for the construction of an innovative office building. That is when the GPP’s authorities had presented its plans about construction of a huge 23 000 sq. m passive building (original plans assumed cofinancing from the EU funds), but the investment did not start.

Konduktorska full of TNT

At the beginning of Q3, the Upper Silesian Industrial Park (Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy) expanded its office space over 734 sq. m which were leased individed by TNT Express Worldwide (Poland) Sp. z o.o. Thanks to the new office space, TNT Express was able to move the last regional departments to one localization on Konduktorska Street.

Late 2008, TNT Express has started a new hub for road shipments in the Park. The hub covers area of 3 000 sq. m.

The biggest net zero energy solar building in Europe

The Upper Silesian Industrial Park (Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy) is going to build a first net zero energy solar building in Poland and the biggest one in Europe. This 7-storey office building will be situated in the North part of Katowice on Konduktorska Street, Wełnowiec district. Its extraordinary construction, projected with help of scientists of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice and the Cracow’s University of Technology, consists of pressure-tight walls and unopening windows.
