CCTW starts

Construction works of the Clean Coal Technologies Center (CCTW), a joint venture of the Central Mining Institute (GIG) from Katowice and the Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal (IChPW) from Zabrze, have started. The Center will be raised at 1 Gwarków Sq. in the area of GIG. According to the GIG’s Press Department, demolition of buildings and site preparation are already finished. Currently, ground works for foundation are progressing. The 5 000 sq. m Center will be ready in Q4 2011.

The value of the project amounts EUR 45 million including EUR 36 million within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund.

While the Center’s project is under realization, GIG is preparing for following investment – development of the Radiometry Laboratory. An invitation to tender as a prime contractor was called last days. The new 4-storey Lab will be developed near the CCTW building.
