Since the morning, citizens of Katowice and visitors can scan their handprints at Szewczyka Square – the construction site of the new Railway Station and Galeria Katowicka. This way, everyone can “bear a hand” in building the new complex symbolically. All the handprints saved on a hard disc will be laid down in foundations during the cornerstone ceremony next Tuesday, on 31st of May.
The ceremony will gather City and voivodeship authorities as well as representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure, investors – Neinver Polska and Polish State Railways, and Strabag – the prime contractor of the investment.
From now on, people coming by the construction site of this EUR 240 million project can see the works progress using small “windows” cut in a facing of the site. Additionally, a viewing platform situated at 5 Szewczyka Sq. enables to watch the whole site. The platform is available only today until 6 p.m.
The event was organized within the “Centrum KTW” initiative.
