City Hall is close to signing a water park contract

The City Hall has concluded an evaluation of the offer had submitted by Berndorf Bäderbau Sp. z o.o. from Jaworze, Poland. The company, a swimming pool manufacturer, is taking part in the procedure concerning a selection of a private partner wanted to build a water park on Kościuszki St. The investment will be carried out on the public-private partnership (PPP) basis.

„Berndorf Bäderbau submitted the offer in July this year. During the last months the City Hall have evaluated it in accordance with formal, substantial and legal terms. After the detailed evaluation, we had found the offer consistent with the project assumptions and we decided to sign the contract with the company. It should take place by the end of this year. A designing process of the building will start in 2012” – said Michał Patalong, Project Manager of the water park.

The administrative proceeding was the last one before the contract signing. The procedures were commenced in 2009, when the City Hall invited to submit applications. In 2010, three companies had made applications and were qualified for negotiations. Except Berndorf Bäderbau, it was Miastoprojekt Wrocław Sp. z o.o. and LEO11 Sp. z o.o. The last step was to issue a request for a final offers submission sent to the three companies. Only the firm from Jaworze decided to apply for the contract.

The water park will be located between Ceglana, Tadeusza Kościuszki and Alfonsa Zgrzebnioka Streets on a 9,6ha plot. It will be a modern complex of an indoor pool (including a 25-meters long swimming pool) and recreation area with wellness and spa services and a food court. A development of other commercial facilities such as a hotel is also considered but was not included in the fore-mentioned procedure.

An estimated cost of the investment is approximately net PLN 140 – 150 million. A construction work will most likely be kicked-off in 2013.

Berndorf Bäderbau has been a swimming pool manufacturer since 1960. It has constructed over 5000 pools in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland and others. The company is a subsidiary of Berndorf AG based in Austria.
