Demolition works on the main hall of the Railway Station had started on 22nd of December 2010, passed the half-way stage today. Workers of Trans-Ziem – the company responsible for the demolishment – started to tear down the ninth of sixteen cup-shaped pillars, the distinctive part of the Railway Station. On Wednesday, the workers tore down the eighth pillar.
The demolition works are to be concluded in January. After then, in February, the Strabag prime contractor will launch construction works on the new Railway Station and Galeria Katowicka.
