Intel Extreme Masters World Championship and Intel ESL Expo Katowice will begin in the City in less than a week. Also, Intel Challenge Katowice, a women’s e-sports tournament, has been recently added to the schedule of the event. This year’s total prize money for e-sports competition is well over USD 600 000.

E-sports fans and technology enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the world’s best gamers in action and test the latest technology in the expo part of the event. Organizers expect more visitors than the year before.
In 2014, the „Spodek” arena was visited by about 73 000 people during the three-day tournament. This time the area will be expanded by a multifunctional hall of the new International Convention Center (ICC). Situated right alongside „Spodek”, the center will enable the organizer to spread the e-sport competition and exhibition stands of the expo across 8 000 sq. meters of additional space. The tournament will take place both in „Spodek” and the ICC hall. The finals are set to be held on the main stage of „Spodek” in front of a total of over 12 500 spectators.
The latest achievements from the world’s leading gaming technology manufacturers – Intel, BenQ, GIGABYTE, HyperX and ROCCAT – will be showcased throughout the hall within the Intel ESL Expo Katowice.
„Last year, we saw some absolutely fantastic games and experienced a great atmosphere in Katowice. Particularly when Virtus.pro, a Polish team, were crowned champions in front of their home crowd. The chance to host it in an arena as memorable as „Spodek” is an added bonus” – said Ulrich Schulze, Managing Director of Pro Gaming at ESL, an organizer of IEM.
Intel Extreme Master Katowice 2015 will be held in „Spodek” and the ICC from 12th to 15th of March. The attendance in the event is free of charge between 13th and 15th of March. March 12th will be exclusive to business guests and media who will be attending conferences and seminars.
