Echo Katowice turns into Galeria Libero

Echo Investment presented a new name and logo of the retail and entertainment center to be constructed in the southern part of Katowice. The presentation took place during 4 Design Days – a real estate, architecture and design event – which had been commenced today in the International Convention Center.

„The shopping center will be called Galeria Libero. The new name reflects values on which we build the brand image. It will be a modern facility promoting such values as innovativeness, joy and being part of a group. „Libero” means free, freedom in Latin and Esperanto. The word also refers to the name of the district of Ligota, which means freedom as well” – said Katarzyna Porębska, marketing manager in the shopping center department at Echo Investment.

The new brand will replace the former temporary name Echo Katowice. Construction works on the 42 000 sq. meters shopping and entertainment center are expected to be commenced late in the spring this year. The building should be opened in the first quarter of 2018. The only officially confirmed tenant by now is the Helios cinema chain.

Galeria Libero will be built in the junction of Kolejowa and Kościuszki streets in the district of Ligota.
