Spec Bau Polska, a prime contractor of the “Mały Staw” housing complex, topped out the first of four buildings being erected within the “Rekreacyjna Dolina” (Recreation Valley) residential estate.
The investment is carried out by the Katowice Housing Association (“Katowicka Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa”, KSM), a management company of nearly twenty housing estates and residential buildings in the City. “Mały Staw” is situated at 40 Pułaskiego St. about 1,5 km from the Center and is adjacent to the “Paderewskiego” housing estate on one side, and to the recreational areas of the Three Ponds Valley on the other side.
The development consists of four five-storey buildings with a total number of 128 apartments (two, three or four rooms), set on the shared, rectangular socle. From the street level there are entrances to the stairways, to underground car parks and the paths leading to the upper level of the socle where the inner courtyard will be located.
There are 32 apartments in each of the double staircase buildings. The metric area ranges from 56 to 85 sq. meters. Each of the apartments have a loggia or terrace, with the sliding glass panels closing system on the boundaries. Oval loggia’s shape is emphasizing the soft form of the buildings.
Works on the buildings were commenced in May last year. According to the developer, first inhabitants will be able to move in the turn of 2012 and 2013. “Mały Staw” is the first stage of “Rekreacyjna Dolina” – KSM also plans to erect the second stage called “Duży Staw” (four eight-storey facilities with 120 apartments).
Both projects were prepared by “Biuro Projektów Architektonicznych” from Katowice.
