The first building of Silesia Business Park has been commissioned. Over half of the office space is occupied by the PwC’s Service Delivery Center, which has already moved into the facility. Also, the construction of the complex’s second building will soon be half-marked.
Silesia Business Park is Skanska’s first office project in Katowice. The newly delivered building is located at 152 Chorzowska St. It covers the leaseable area of 11 500 sq. meters, comprises a two-level parking space for about 150 vehicles as well as twelve storeys above ground level. The building was commissioned for use in the middle of November. PwC occupies 6 800 sq. meters.
The construction work was officially started in November 2013, however the preparatory works – including the two level car park – had been commenced in April the same year. Skanska recently informed that the Silesia Business Park construction site won the first prize in the „Construct Safely” 2014 competition organized by the National Labour Inspectorate. BNP Paribas Real Estate was chosen by the developer as the property manager of the first office building. It is the first facility in Katowice to be managed by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
At present, the second of four office buildings is underway. The construction of the elevator core already reached the ninth storey above the ground. Prefabricated concrete elements of the typical floor were laid at four levels. The building is to be commissioned for use at the turn of Q3 and Q4 of 2015.
The architectural design of the complex was prepared by Medusa Group. The prime contractor is Skanska S.A., Skanska Property Poland is responsible for commercialization of the leasable spaces.
