The City Hall of Katowice invited four architectural firms to make their bids for a detailed design of the Market Square’s public spaces.
The four studios were chosen out of six that have submitted applications in late September within the first stage of the procedure. The second stage is a limited tender where the four firms will enter the bids. The price and quality of the proposed architectural ideas for the area will be taken into consideration by the competition jury.
Names of the invited studios are as follows: GPP Grupa Projektowa (Kraków), P.A. Nova (Gliwice), Redan (Szczecin) and Venit (Gliwice). Architects will design the area between Moniuszki St. and the “Rynek 13” building (north-south axis), and the Silesian Theater and the “Skarbek” building (east-west axis).
The chosen architectural studio will have 12 months to prepare the said detailed documentation including all administrative decisions and permissions enabling to issue a bidding procedure for a prime contractor and to start the construction work.
