Gap opens in Silesia City Center

On 4th of April, an American fashion brand of Gap will celebrate opening of its store in Silesia City Center (SCC). It is the second shop of the brand in Poland after Warsaw.

“It is worth to mention that Katowice is just the second Polish city where the famous clothes chain has decided to open its store. The numbers of the Center and 13 million visitors yearly were crucial to the decision” – said Ilona Szafer, representing Leasing Department of SCC.

The total area of the new store covers 724 sq. meters, it is located on the ground floor of the extended part of SCC, which was delivered in October last year. The shop offers casual clothes including denim trousers, shirts, blouses, T-shirts and accessories.

Gap is another American brand available in Silesia City Center. Apart from the new comer, the U.S. fashion firms are represented by Tommy Hilfiger, GUESS, Calvin Klein Jeans and Polo by Ralph Lauren.

In Poland, Gap is being managed by a Polish franchise partner, Ultimate Fashion – a subsidiary of Empik Media & Fashion.

The brand was established in 1969, with a single store in San Francisco. It is owned by Gap Inc., a leading global retailer offering clothing, accessories, and personal care products for men, women, children, and babies under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime, and Athleta brands.

The Gap’s clothes are present in more than 90 countries across the world. The brand has about 3 000 company-operated stores and about 200 franchise stores.
