On Monday (15th of April), katowicethecity.com informed about the commencement of ground works on the second office building of GPP Business Park. In the meantime, the Upper Silesian Industrial Park (GPP) – an investor of the undertaking – released an updated statement saying the ground works were launched on the second and the third building.
In this way almost 16 000 sq. meters of office space (2 x 7 800 sq.m) are under construction on Konduktorska St. where the office park is situated. The architecture of the two new facilities will be comparable to the first one already built – the Goeppert-Mayer building.
The construction work on the second building is expected to be concluded in the first half of 2014. A delivery date of the third one was not revealed. GPP Business Park will consist of four office facilities.

The Upper Silesian Industrial Park (GPP) has commenced construction works on the second office building of GPP Business Park.
„The ground works were launched last week. We have contracted Spec Bau Polska to erect the building” – said Justyna Bartecka, marketing and development director at GPP.
The second facility will be similar to the Goeppert-Mayer building opened on 30th of August 2012, which was the first one delivered within GPP Business Park. There will be four office buildings in total named after the four Nobel prize winners that came from the Upper Silesia region – Maria Goeppert-Mayer, Otto Stern, Kurt Alder and Konrad Bloch. The eight-storey facility (including one level situated under the ground as a car park) will offer 7 800 sq. meters of usable area.
Authorities of GPP have not decided yet about the implementation of the tri-generation system in the second building. The innovative solution enables a simultaneous generation of electricity, heating and cooling from gas, and is already being used in Goeppert-Mayer.
The construction works are expected to be concluded next year. GPP Business Park operates within Katowice Special Economic Zone what enables tenants to obtain tax reliefs.
