Hotel to be built at Katowice International Airport

A hotel building will be erected at the Katowice International Airport. The new facility will be delivered by the end of the first quarter of 2017, according to a letter of intent signed between the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (GTL) and Port-Hotel.

The hotel will be built in the southern part of the airport, opposite a cargo building. The property designed for the investment covers an area of approximately 6 000 sq. meters. The agreement obliged Port-Hotel to erect at least a 3-star facility of medium size to be operated by one of world’s hotel chains. The operator will be chosen at a later time.

Port-Hotel was founded in 1998. It was created by the Polish Airports State Enterprise as a special purpose entity to build a hotel in the Warsaw Chopin Airport area. The company is now involved in the creation of new hotel building projects and management of the facilities. It is the sole owner and the operator of the Courtyard by Marriott Warsaw Airport hotel in the vicinity of Warsaw Chopin Airport. Port-Hotel is the only Polish company permitted to manage the brand. It built and manages the 3-star Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport and Hampton by Hilton Gdansk Airport. Also, the company erects the luxurious, 5-star Renaissance Warsaw Airport close to the Warsaw Chopin Airport.
